Villa Colina is in the perfect location, directly above the beach and surf break of Sayulita! It's only a 1½ block walk to the beach and town via a beautifully paved and landscaped walkway 'Lombard Path.' The hill is not a problem for most people, however, if you have elderly folks or children under 4 years old in your party, you may want to consider renting a golf cart. Many people use them in town, and they can be parked on the streets. They are fun to zip around in and much easier than cars. Our Property Manager Ernesto can arrange one for you.
Below are average temperatures by month:
The rainy season is June through September. We delight in viewing the lightning storms out at sea on late summer evenings.
Sayulita is a very friendly and safe town. There have been no problems in the area regarding drug trafficking, etc. This town is super family friendly. Children, both local and tourist, play on the beaches, plaza, etc. As long as houses are locked, there are no problems with theft. There are hotel-style safes in each bedroom and we employ a nightly security guard outside of the property gates.
Sayulita’s central beach, just below Villa Colina, is a great place for beginning surfers (board, SUP, and body surfing). 100 yards further down the beach the waves are bigger. There are waves year round. The waves tend to be the smaller in the summer. There can occasionally be big swells in the winter.
There are several ATM’s at the Puerto Vallarta airport and in Sayulita. Alternatively some travelers choose to order Mexican Pesos from their home bank before traveling so you don't need to worry about exchanging currency. Before your trip, be sure to notify your bank and credit card companies that you will be using your cards in Mexico. Visa or Master Card is more widely accepted than American Express. Some restaurants and shops in Sayulita do not accept credit cards.
You can exchange your money for pesos at the airport, but expect poor rates. Sayulita has several money exchange places and the rate is generally better. The best rate is at a bank by withdrawing from an ATM. If you arrive before 5:00 pm, you can ask your driver to take you to one of the banks at Plaza Marina or Actinver next to the Mega Store.
Villa Colina has a bottled water delivery service for the comfort of our guests.
You can find a hair dryer in each of the four bathrooms at Villa Colina.
Air conditioning available throughout Villa Colina with a separately controlled unit in each bedroom.
Villa Colina does not offer washer/dryer access to guests. However, our housekeeper can do your laundry for 100 pesos per load.
Our property manager Ernesto can arrange all types of tours and activities for you. He can also give you suggestions for a masseuse, in town or at the property, and make arrangements for you to have traditional Mexican meals at the property. About a month before your arrival you will receive a Villa Colina Special Request Form to indicate your preferences. Ernesto will confirm all special requests one week before arrival, early during peak seasons.
The couch beds located in the TV / Family Room are foam couches (not fold-outs) and are topped with a memory foam mattress topper along with new luxurious bamboo sheets. It becomes a large queen sized bed or can be converted to two singles, which are slightly narrower than twins (32″ wide).
